This men's 1979 vintage Arctic Cat, "Elite" snowmobiling jacket combines winter fashion with comfort.

The "Elite" jacket has the same tough 400 Denier Nylon outer shell as many of the snowmobile suits and the same warm Dacron® Hollofil 808® Polyester insulation to keep you toasty warm. The Elite jacket has a two-way front zipper and an elasticized belt inside. There are two zippered front pockets and an inside chest patch pocket. Quality Talon zippers. The stand-up collar has a soft Orlon inlay. The different shades of green accent panels are highlighted with white piping. The white embroidered "Cat Head" on the left front bottom gives it away as being top quality ArcticWear. The sleeves have inset knit cuffs both for style and to keep the cold out.

This jacket is in "Near Mint" condition with just a little smudging on the white piping in spots. It's crisp, super cool looking and ready to wear to your favorite vintage snowmobile event or meet.

Early 1973 vintage Arctic Cat, Men’s Large Snowrider one-piece snowmobile suit is in great overall condition!

The Snowrider suits were among the Arctic Cat 'heavy weights', just below The EXT one-piece suits. The shell is tough, tight weave 400 denier nylon with warm 6.6 oz. Dacron™ 88 insulation. The tri-color arm bands are great and have the reflective night-safe white band between the Arctic purple and green that can be seen at more than 500 feet with car headlights shining on them. 1970 Vintage Arctic Cat One-piece Coverall Snowmobile Suit 316

Here is a Genuine Vintage 1970 Arctic Cat, ARCTIC WEAR one-piece "cover all snow suit" from Arctic Enterprises Inc, of Thief River Falls, Minnesota. This is a size 3 (medium, 140-170 lbs.). Please see More Details for measurements. This suit is rated at Very Good condition. The 1970 men's and women's suits were sized the same and could be worn universally. The main differences were the leg zippers, hoods, and a pocket on the chest of "some" of the men's suits. There was no guaranteed standard that was followed, as was the same with the snowmobiles of the time.

How Many Shades of Arctic Cat Purple Were There?

There were plenty of different shades of Arctic Cat Purple, even in 1971 when it was first introduced. Depending on the graphics on the snowmobiles and the material in the vintage Arctic Wear garments the 1971 and 1972 colors varied greatly from the original Arctic Cat Purple, Pantone PMS-252 (also known as PMS Purple) = DuPont RS151 and throughout the years there was even more variety. In the 1990's you even saw deep purple, not the band Deep Purple (one of my old favorites).

I have a 1970's Arctic Cat Purple women's Glacierider jacket from the two-piece Glacierider snowmobile suit on eBay right now. This one has a Arctic Cat Purple shell with 2" white stripes down the arms bordered with black piping. And there are 4 front pockets outlined with white piping, and a white embroidered "Cat Head". Nice and crisp yet! >>

I call it the Blue-winged Teal Jacket

As the snowmobiles evolved during the 1970's and beyond so did the winter fashions they provided to compliment their snowmobiles. During the mid to late 1970's many of the snowmobiling clothing lines got more color variations and different styling. I have a vintage Polaris snowmobiling jacket that I believe is from the mid to late 1970's that has some color and style similar to an Arctic Wear VIP jacket with different shades of blue in layered inlays. I call them the Blue-winged Teal jackets due to the similarities to the markings on those beautiful waterfowl. It is a men's size Large-Long and it is in great condition.

I have the Polaris WINTERWEAR jacket on my eBay auctions currently.
